A Large-Scale Metacomputer Approach for Distributed Parallel Computing

In this paper, a new architecture for metacomputing is proposed , designed to integrate heterogeneous resources of the Internet. The goals of this metacomputer are the orchestration of very large amounts of workstations and the integration of supercomputers into a pool of resources for distributed parallel computing. Based on a tree shaped logical interconnection topology, the system provides not only a parallel programmer interface but also a simple user interface to administrate large systems.
